One Door Closes, Another Opens…
Recently, we had the chance to work with one of Boston’s top morning radio shows and the “Flipping Boston” team.
Moreover, the home improvement project was set to receive major promotion on Kiss 108’s “Matty in the Morning” program.
We would be working side-by-side with the guys from A&E’s “Flipping Boston” to transform “Matty in the Morning” Producer Kendra Petrone’s Haverhill home. We were thrilled by the opportunity and the associated visibility this promotion would give our company and to help keep Kendra’s family warm this winter with a new energy-efficient sliding glass door.
Plans Change…
Then suddenly, all plans stopped when Kendra was unceremoniously terminated from Kiss 108. Kendra had been “Matty in the Morning” producer for nearly a decade. She’s also a blogger, TV personality, and mother of three—a dynamic person with a heart of gold. It was horrible to see this happen to such an amazing person. When the radio mentions, social media buzz, and online presence disappeared, Kendra texted, “Better cancel the door.”
Our answer was simple: “No way!”
Sure, the marketing cache was no longer a factor in donating the sliding glass door to Kendra’s family room.
- But what about Kendra’s family room and keeping her family warm?
- What about the drafts constantly blowing through her existing faulty door?
- The fact that she had to shove towels in the threshold of her door in an attempt to stop the draftiness?
- What about the safety of her three young children?
(Stephanie & Kendra are hanging on the gap at the top of the door where the draft comes through.)
Kendra had been so excited to receive her new sliding glass door from Coastal Windows & Exteriors because it would keep her family: warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and keep her children safe inside their home. She fell in love with the French Sliding Glass Door because of its dual-point locking system. The double locks create additional security for her children.
Were we just going to take all of that excitement, anticipation, and feelings of comfort & safety away from Kendra simply because she was no longer working at Kiss 108? Absolutely not.
We pride ourselves on supporting the community that we serve. Kendra is a big part of that community. There was no way we were going to let her down. So we decided to move forward with the project, to donate the beautiful sliding glass door, and pay to have it installed. We decided to do this because it was the right thing to do. It was simply the Coastal thing to do.
Now, we look forward to sharing this project’s progress with you—our Coastal family. Together, we can cheer Kendra on as she starts her new professional and personal journey. She’ll enjoy a beautiful home with her young family and a community that loves her deeply. You go, Kendra!
