What should I expect from a Home Energy Assessment?

  • A Home Energy Assessment will typically take 1.5 to 2.5 hours
  • The energy specialist will inspect various areas and systems of the home including the attic, basement, heating and cooling systems, windows & doors
  • The specialist will help you develop an energy plan and explain applicable incentives

What is included in my Free Home Energy Assessment?

With your free Home Energy Assessment, you will receive a personalized report outlining recommended energy efficiency improvements. Additionally, you will receive installation of no-cost immediate savings measures such as light emitting diode (LED) light bulbs, programmable thermostats, and water saving devices, as needed. Also included:

  • Screening for eligibility for the ENERGY STAR refrigerator rebate
  • Air Sealing and Insulation specification, if applicable
  • Infrared Testing, if applicable
  • Combustion Safety Testing

Will I see an impact from the Home Energy Assessment?

By completing a Home Energy Assessment, you may be eligible for incentives offered by your utility company such as:

  • No-cost targeted air sealing
  • 75 percent off (up to $2,000) for insulation work
  • Affordable and 0% interest loans can be used to finance qualified energy home improvements such as ductless mini splits, high-efficiency heating and cooling systems and high-efficiency windows
  • Various rebates on purchases of energy-efficient heating, cooling and hot water equipment
