Coastal Windows & Exteriors Donates Winter-Ready GAF Roof to Rowley Veteran in Need
INC 5000 #1 Woman-Owned Exterior Remodeling Company in New England Continues to Protect Local Veterans through Roofs for Heroes Initiative
November 3, 2023 – (Rowley, MA) – As the holiday season approaches, Coastal Windows & Exteriors (CWE) of Beverly, in partnership with GAF, will generously donate a new roof for FREE to a Rowley veteran on Wednesday November 8, 2023. This is the fourth roof installation project under the company’s Roofs for Heroes initiative.
The veteran, Bill Kelly, is a retired U.S. Coast Guard living in Rowley, MA. Meanwhile, his old roof caused many problems—leaks, mold, energy loss, and winter ice dams. In fact, the original roof badly needed replacing to protect Kelly. Moreover, the Farmers Almanac predicted a very cold, snowy winter ahead.
To ensure a warm, energy-efficient winter, CWE will install a new roof and labor free of charge for Kelly. Furthermore, the roofing system, built with America’s #1 shingle, prevents leaks, blocks moisture, and limits attic heat and ice dams. Notably, ice dams are a common winter issue in New England. Specifically, they form when attic warmth melts rooftop snow, which refreezes in gutters. Consequently, the ice buildup can detach gutters, placing Kelly’s home at serious risk.
Kelly was thrilled to hear about his winter-ready roof installation. “The old roof, original to the building, desperately needed replacing. When CWE contacted me through the Merrimack Valley Chamber and said I’d been selected, I was speechless—rare for anyone who knows me!” said Kelly. Additionally, he called it a fabulous, practical way for a local company to turn good intentions into real action. He noted it makes a big difference in a veteran’s life. Moreover, he understands CWE has donated several roofs to veterans in Essex County. “For that, I am also very grateful,” he added.
