Beverly residents Stephanie and David Vanderbilt launched Coastal Windows in 2011 at the Cummings Center. Stephanie, a former teacher of the deaf in the Peabody Public School system, became owner and together, they leveraged David’s background running divisions of various home improvement companies.
One year later, they expanded, renaming the business Coastal Windows & Exteriors to include the products they added: siding, roofing, entry and sliding glass doors, baths, and showers.
Last year, the 15-employee company earned more than $3 million, was named one of Remodeling Magazine’s Big 50 contractors, and was a finalist for the Fred Case Remodeling Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
The company is also known for helping charitable endeavors in the community. Coastal donated material and labor to four Habitat for Humanity projects on the North Shore, including a new roof and all new windows for a widowed cancer survivor in Peabody.
