Excellent customer service! We met with Ryan about a major exterior rehab on our 75-year-old home, including siding, gutters, and replacement of several original basement windows. He helped design a plan that will look great, always aware of our budget, and making suggestions for areas to save that won’t compromise appearance or durability. Once we decided to go ahead, he continued to check in to ensure we are satisfied with the crews and the work progress. Any time I call with a question, I am either answered immediately to within an hour or 2. Our site manager, Steve, always checks in every couple days, doing regular walk-arounds and answering questions. Big jobs like this can be overwhelming but the level of communication has made it so much less stressful for us as homeowners.
About This Project: James Hardie® Cedarmill 6.25″ 5″ Boothbay Blue, Smooth Panel Cedarmill Batton Boothbay Blue, Vinyl Replacement Windows
We recently took on a project that needed not just an update, but a complete overhaul of an old, underperforming windows and siding in Beverly, MA. The homeowner was looking to bring their dream home to life with a durable and attractive siding replacement, and we knew exactly what would meet their needs—James Hardie® plank siding with energy efficient vinyl replacement windows.
Located in this historic district, this home had two existing layers of siding: an outer vinyl layer and an underlying layer of wood clapboard. Both were providing minimal protection and doing no favors for the home’s curb appeal.
As James Hardie® Master Elite siding contractors, we stripped both layers away completely, creating a clean slate for the new installation. James Hardie® is an ideal siding for historic homes, as its products are approved by the Historical Commission. We handled the process of working with this Historical Commission for this homeowner, making the process even easier. Meanwhile, the new replacement windows make this home more comfortable and energy efficient during every season.
For the new siding, the homeowner selected James Hardie® Cedarmill Plank with a 5-inch exposure, coupled with a 16-inch Board & Batten smooth board, milled batten, all in a stylish Boothbay Blue color. This choice wasn’t just about aesthetics; James Hardie® siding is known for its durability and resistance to the elements, making it ideal for the fluctuating climates of New England. Today, this homeowner is enjoying New England’s most popular fiber cement siding that is resistant to termites, Class A fire resistant, and incredibly beautiful!
