A Warm & Cozy Treat: Gingersnap Cookies That Make the Perfect Holiday Gift
What do you think of when you think of warm and cozy? I think of cookies. Cookies with a story to tell. Generations have lovingly passed down these cookies, carrying family traditions and cherished memories. Cookies that people are itching to receive.
Today’s recipe for Gingersnaps is sure to please. Even though the cookies are thin they aren’t crispy unless overcooked. The flavor of them just invokes a feeling of being “home”. I’m not sure if it’s the molasses or the cloves but they are different enough from the sure-thing stand by chocolate chip cookie that I bake that they taste unique. Because of that they are a great option for either your Thanksgiving or Christmas table. Or, as I’m sharing today, a great little hostess gift when you’re just popping in to see a friend (because, seriously, what friend doesn’t want to receive an adorable little jar of cookies?).
These cookies come cut into bite-sized pieces. If you practice discipline, that’s a good thing. If not, you might keep thinking, “They’re small, I can have one more.” That’s the kiss of death for attempting to fit into those fabulous Christmas cocktail dresses, isn’t it?
A Word of Warning… These Are Bite-Sized!
It’s incredibly easy make your own little hostess gift jars. I just used a Smucker’s Jelly jar because I liked the shape and then spray painted the lid Rustoleum’s Oil-Rubbed Bronze. The label was made in Canva (this amazing free site that allows anyone to “become” a graphic designer). I think it’s a great idea to make a few jars to have on hand in case someone stops by unexpectedly during the Thanksgiving or Christmas season. If you haven’t prepared delicious cookies or if you’ve already eaten them yourself—make sure you stash some. Keep a supply of tasty sweets ready to satisfy cravings whenever needed.… I adore the caramels from Caramels de Bouchard.
