Coastal Windows & Exteriors Holds Successful Build Day & Announces 2nd Build Day & Fundraising Event on November 17th, 2013!
They kicked off those efforts this past Saturday, October 19, 2013 at their first “Coastal Build Day”.
In the spirit of the Magic of Oz, Coastal Windows & Exteriors donated the roof, siding, windows and doors that will turn the dilapidated house at 6 Grover Street in Lynn, MA, into a home for some very lucky local families.
Coastal Windows & Exteriors owners Stephanie and Dave Vanderbilt were thrilled to personally install their first window ever. It was also the first window and vinyl siding piece on the new home during their Build Day on Saturday.
In addition, employees and volunteers worked side by side throughout the day to bring the home one step closer to completion. Together, they hammered, painted, and installed with purpose and pride. Meanwhile, laughter, teamwork, and a shared mission filled the air. By the end of the day, visible progress reminded everyone why this work matters. Without a doubt, the Build Day brought the community together in a powerful and inspiring way.
“Having been a teacher for deaf students here in Lynn, I have a strong connection with this community,” said Stephanie Vanderbilt, owner, Coastal Windows & Exteriors. “It was such an amazing feeling to look through the window that I helped to install and envision all of the incredible memories that will be made inside this home through the years.”
