I will admit…I am a Summer girl but something about the change into the Back to School Fall season-remembering my first day of school outfit to my past years of teaching starting a new year-September always meant refresh and renew. I love everything about this time of year. From savoring and spending the last part of the summer, shopping for new organizational tools (yep that’s me) to embracing all that this new season will bring — from new foods to try, bringing out my fall décor, and usually starting a new fall home renovation project.
This week it’s all about Feeling That Shift into the next season. It happens at about this time of the year, every year. I don’t know about you but its more like an ease than I want to jump right in. Boots you can stay in the attic…I am not ready for you yet, but I am ready to move from brighter colors into a more neutral color scheme. I’m noticing a gradual shift in my design sensibilities from white to ivory, greys, browns, and metallic finishes. Do you have a similar décor mood and does it change with the season?
September is a busy time of year for us all so I truly enjoy coming home to the warm candles (yes they are on a timer…thank you Target!) and the calmness of neutrals.
My favorite quick fix in the living room is to pull out warm throws and swap out for warmer pillows. This living room filled with accessible pieces with a vintage flair — could be the calm, serene space that your home has been wishing for!
