In the quiet town of Salisbury, MA, a well-deserved veteran experienced a life-changing home upgrade. Robert Moreau, a retired Navy veteran, received the FREE installation of a much-needed new roof, courtesy of our proud team at Coastal Windows & Exteriors. It’s all part of our exciting Roofs for Heroes program!

Robert, a spirited soul even in his older age, had been patching his worn-out roof with tar each year. This laborious and risky task had become a fixture of his routine, as he tried to keep his home safe and dry. But luckily, Robert bid goodbye to his old roof and welcomed a new, state-of-the-art roofing system.

Furthermore, Robert was hand-picked as our recipient by a Newburyport-based non-profit initiative, Veterans Legacy. Kevin Hunt, Executive Director for Veterans Legacy, expressed his gratitude, saying, “Being able to provide Mr. Moreau, a fellow veteran, with a reliable and lasting roof over his head, is so appreciated.”

Installation Day: An Event to Remember

Roof installation day was abuzz with excitement from the entire community. The neighborhood watched on as we replaced the old, inefficient roof with America’s #1 shingle, designed to prevent leaks, shield from moisture infiltration, and reduce attic heat and ice dam formation.

Meanwhile, Robert watched in awe, his face lighting up as the new roof took shape. “This is unbelievable,” he exclaimed. “I’ve never heard of a company taking care of veterans like this before. This is way more than giving a loaf of bread—this is a big deal.”

The powerhouse behind this heartwarming initiative is the unique partnership between CWE and GAF Roofing. Here at Coastal, we were recently named Family Business of the Year by The Greater Beverly Chamber of Commerce. We also have a rich history of giving back to the community.
