Coastal Windows & Exteriors Donates Winter-Ready GAF Roof to Rowley Veteran in Need
INC 5000 #1 Woman-Owned Exterior Remodeling Company in New England Continues to Protect Local Veterans through Roofs for Heroes Initiative
November 3, 2023 – (Rowley, MA) – As the holiday season approaches, Coastal Windows & Exteriors (CWE) of Beverly, in partnership with GAF, will generously donate a new roof for FREE to a Rowley veteran on Wednesday November 8, 2023. This is the fourth roof installation project under the company’s Roofs for Heroes initiative.
The veteran, Bill Kelly, is a retired U.S. Coast Guard veteran living in Rowley, MA. Living with an old roof comes with a myriad of potential problems, including leaks, mold growth, energy loss, and ice dams in the winter. Original to the building, the roof was in dire need of replacement to protect Kelly from the upcoming winter weather – predicted to be very cold and snowy by the Farmers Almanac.
For a warm home and energy efficient winter ahead, CWE will provide a new roof and labor at no cost to Kelly. Engineered with America’s #1 shingle, this roofing system prevents leaks, shields from moisture infiltration, and reduces attic heat and ice dam formation. Ice dams are a particular problem this time of year in New England. They are the result of warm temperatures in the attic melting snow off the roof, where it accumulates in the gutter system and forms ice dams. The weight of ice dams can easily pull the gutter system off the roof, putting Kelly’s home at serious risk.
Kelly was thrilled to receive the news of his winter ready roof installation. “The old roof was original to the building and desperately needed to go. When CWE reached out through the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce and told me I had been selected, I was speechless—a rare thing for anyone who knows me!” said Kelly. This is a fabulous and very practical way for a local company to turn good intentions into tangible actions and make a huge difference in a veteran’s life. I understand they have donated several roofs to veterans around Essex County. And for that, I am grateful as well.”
