Window Installation in Beverly, MA | North Shore

About This Windows Project

Windows Installation in Beverly MA: Coastal Windows & Exteriors, the premier window company Beverly MA residents trust, recently completed a project for a historic Victorian home built in 1903. The homeowners struggled with failing original windows, including circular single-pane units that caused significant drafts and energy loss. Our certified installers performed full frame tear-outs on multiple windows and converted unique circular windows to properly insulated Octagon double-pane units. We installed white Vytex Potomac HP triple pane windows with custom grid patterns to maintain the home’s classic Victorian character.

The window installation Beverly MA project delivered immediate results for the homeowner. As the #1 woman-owned window company in New England, we provided windows with an industry-leading 0.1 CFM air infiltration rating that virtually eliminated drafts in this century-old Victorian home. The triple-pane technology with specialized gas significantly reduced energy costs while maintaining architectural integrity. Our window contractor Beverly MA team carefully preserved original trim during installation, respecting the home’s Victorian history while providing modern performance. Project Spotlight: Inside Look on Replacement Window Install

Why did the homeowners decide to replace their old windows with new ones?

The Beverly homeowners reached out because their 120-year-old Victorian windows were failing badly. The wooden frames had worn down from years of coastal weather. This caused drafts and moisture problems inside the home. Their unique circular windows, once beautiful Victorian features, had become major weak spots for heat loss. The homeowners even used plastic sheeting in winter but still had high energy bills. So, they chose our Vytex Potomac HP triple-pane windows, which exceed Energy Star 7.0 ratings.

What was the condition of the original windows, and how have the new windows improved the home?

Our initial assessment revealed severely compromised windows throughout the Victorian home with wooden frames showing significant warping and rot. The single-pane circular windows, typical of Victorian architecture, offered almost no insulation against winter temperatures.

After installing our energy efficient replacement windows, the homeowners can now enjoy up to $500 in annual energy savings. The new windows maintain stable indoor temperatures year-round while providing crystal-clear views without the condensation and fogging that had obscured their outlook.

Were there any additional features or upgrades included in the window installation?

This project needed special solutions to keep the Victorian look while adding modern performance. We replaced the unique circular windows with Vytex Potomac Octagon double-pane units. We upgraded the main living room windows to triple-pane glass.

All windows have Low-E glass that keeps heat inside during winter and protects furniture from UV damage. The Vytex vinyl frames have insulated foam cores, offering much better insulation than the old wooden frames. They need almost no maintenance.

How do the new windows handle New England's unpredictable weather and temperature changes?

We chose products designed specifically for coastal New England and Victorian homes. Indeed, the Vytex Potomac HP windows handle temperature changes, strong winds, and moisture from the coast very well. With a 0.1 CFM air infiltration rating—the best in the industry—they stay nearly draft-free in any weather. Their triple-pane glass with insulating gas layers blocks heat transfer. They keep the home warmer in winter and cooler in summer.

How have the new windows enhanced the home's beauty, resale value, and curb appeal?

For this historic Victorian home in Beverly, our team improved performance while keeping the classic look. The homeowners chose white finishes inside and out, with white hardware, to match the home’s original style. Custom grids with two vertical and two horizontal lines were added to some windows to fit the 1903 design.

This window replacement project has greatly increased the home’s value, giving about an 85% return on investment.
