Coastal Windows & Exteriors Launches “Roof For Heroes” Program to Provide Free Roofs for Local Healthcare Workers
BEVERLY, MA — Coastal Windows & Exteriors, a woman-owned, family-run exterior remodeling company, proudly announces the launch of its Roof For Heroes program. This community-focused initiative will provide five free roofing systems to local healthcare workers on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic. Each free roof installation in Massachusetts includes a full GAF Timberline HDZ system—ensuring top-tier protection and curb appeal at no cost to the recipient.
Additionally, community partners such as StonyBrook Water, Lucia Lighting, and Revise Energy are donating additional home upgrades. Together, these improvements not only enhance energy efficiency but also uplift the quality of life for these frontline heroes.
Giving Back to Essential Workers
“Many people are now working from home and focusing on home upgrades. However, our essential workers—nurses, first responders, grocery clerks—work tirelessly for all of us,” says Stephanie Vanderbilt, owner of Coastal Windows & Exteriors. “That’s exactly why we created the Roof For Heroes program—to say thank you by protecting their homes.”
The first awardee is Audrey Normand, a registered nurse at the Northshore Education Consortium. Coastal partnered with Habitat for Humanity North Shore, which is already upgrading her home. Normand’s story is deeply personal—her own son was diagnosed with leukemia at age four and is now cancer-free after two years of treatment.
“I feel like I won the lottery,” Normand said. “This new roof brings peace of mind and symbolizes real protection for my family.”

Stephanie Vanderbilt adds, “We are honored to provide Audrey with a free lifetime roofing system. A secure roof means safety, stability, and comfort. Through this program, we want to protect those who protect us.”
To date, Coastal Windows & Exteriors has donated over $100,000 in labor and materials to Habitat for Humanity North Shore. Now, through Roof For Heroes, they aim to expand their impact across Essex County.
