Well, it looks like Coastal Windows & Exteriors is at it again! This year CW&E is working with Habitat for Humanity and their Critical Home Repair Program to help another homeowner with their roofing needs. The elderly homeowner in need is located in Peabody, and the roof is in critical condition. We will be installing the new roof this August, providing our rare twenty-five year labor workmanship warranty by being a certified GAF Master Elite contractor – certification shared with only 3% of United States roofing contractors.
This year, as part of the “Raise the Roof” program, Coastal is encouraging its customers to purchase GAF American Harvest shingles. This will play into the charity aspect of the program! CW&E will donate a square of GAF American Harvest to Habitat for Humanity for every shingle purchased!
There couldn’t have been a better time to pick the Peabody project. The homeowner’s shingles are curling with algae growth, revealing that the shingles’ protective granules are no longer there, and the roof is leaking as a result. With all of that combined, the homeowner is also experiencing absurd energy bills that she’s struggling with.
Coastal Windows & Exteriors is so excited to work with every homeowner on this project that Stephanie Vanderbilt will be giving away a free American Flag to each one of them as a thank you for helping this project succeed.. Coastal will also be dedicating a full build day themselves to the project.
CW&E has worked with North Shore Habitat for Humanity three times now. In 2013, they gave siding for a North Shore Habitat for Humanity project in Lynn, MA, as well as a roof, windows, and doors, equaling $54,000, as well as a big event with a Wizard of Oz-inspired “No Place Like Home” theme. They gave turkeys as gifts for those three Habitat For Humanity families in the fall. There was also a roof that was collapsing in Peadbody right before the winter that they donated a roof for, being considered a Critical Care family.
Don Preston, president of the organization’s North Shore chapter, acknowledges Coastal Windows & Exteriors as a terrific supporter of Habitat for Humanity’s mission and that they provide excellent products and services. “They’ve been a vital contributor and we’re thrilled to be working with them again in Peabody.”
Habitat for Humanity’s North Shore construction supervisor, Mark Bergeron, believes Habitat for Humanity’s “A Brush with Kindness” program is a foundation for safe, well-maintained homes, as well as pride and dignity for the homeowner. He knows, thanks to CW&E, that this will help bring the elderly homeowner a sense of security and peace of mind, and that it will also help build value for the home and increase her curb appeal.
