Coastal Windows & Exteriors was recently featured in two all-new episodes of A&E’s “Flipping Boston”. Two all-new shows featured Coastal Windows & Exteriors’ Owner Stephanie Vanderbilt in an expert role as she showcased her company’s work on homes in Lynn and Reading, Massachusetts.  As part of their role in the Reading, Massachusetts taping, Coastal Windows & Exteriors worked with JP Norden and his family as “Flipping Boston” prepared his home to better suit his needs since the Boston Marathon bombings.  The company, in partnership with Northshore Magazine and Kings in Lynnfield, recently celebrated their role in these two shows with friends, family, clients, business partners and the media at a VIP Viewing Party at Kings in Lynnfield, Massachusetts.

The event raffle raised funds to benefit Boston Marathon bombing survivors and brothers JP & Paul Norden’s newly launched charity “A Leg Forever” Charitable Foundation. The Viewing Party event also included “”Flipping Boston” hosts Peter Souhleris and Dave Seymour, as well as contributors to both shows and featured a complimentary buffet, signature cocktails and an exciting raffle.  Another added feature to the evening was the inclusion of another recent reality TV star, King’s Lynnfield Head Chef Jennifer Normant.  Normant was recently a contestant on Gordon Ramsey’s Hell’s Kitchen where she made it into the top 5 finalists.

About the A&E “Flipping Boston” Episodes

Being selected to contribute to this national network home improvement show puts a positive light on this woman-owned business making her mark in a male dominated industry.  In the Lynn episode, Stephanie helped “Flipping Boston” hosts Peter Souhleris and Dave Seymour improve the structure of a Lynn investment home by adding a new GAF Master Elite Lifetime roof to the property. Stephanie saves the day when, after discovering root rot, she instructs Pete and Dave that they must – according to Master Elite regulations – re-shingle the substrate with plywood.  In the Reading episode, Stephanie’s charitable side is featured as her company donates and installs new ADA-compliant ProVia doors for a Boston Marathon bombing survivor’s new home. The new doors will aid in everyday function and address concerns for proper thresholds, door width, and ADA ease of use challenges for wheelchair accessibility.

“Discovering unexpected issues in the Lynn project was an unwelcome surprise, but it was great to be able to teach two home improvement experts how to overcome and rectify these challenges,” said Stephanie Vanderbilt, owner, Coastal Windows & Exteriors. “And for the second show, we obviously loved working with Peter and Dave once again.  But the highlight was definitely being able to help improve the life of a Boston Marathon bombing victim and his family.  Something like that hits close to home for any Bostonian and that’s why we are thrilled that our event will benefit his new charity.”

“When scouting for a home exteriors company in the Greater Boston area to contribute to these two home projects, we were thrilled to find a company like Coastal Windows & Exteriors that is so knowledgeable and committed to educating their customers,” said show co-host Peter Souhleris.  “They know their stuff and they move fast.  We ran into a few challenges along the way at both locations and Stephanie and her team always brought the best solutions and, of course, got the work done on schedule with high quality lifetime products.”

“Flipping Boston” on A&E features professional house flippers Peter Souhleris and Dave Seymour as they gamble on a strategy to give them an edge in the tough real estate market.  They design high end and they flip fast.  There’s never a dull moment when Peter’s attention to detail gets in the way of Dave’s need for speed.  But the end results prove that this duo is on the top of their game.  But the real question is, will there be a jackpot for them at the end of each flip?  You can view the full episodes at the bottom of this page.

“A Leg Forever” Charitable Foundation was established by Liz Norden in honor of her two sons JP and Paul Norden.  Both boys are Boston Marathon bombing survivors, who each lost a leg in the bombings of April 15, 2013. The foundation’s mission is to pay it forward and assist other amputees in their time of need just as her sons were helped.  The Boston Marathon bombings changed the lives of many families that horrific day; 269 people were injured that day and 16 of them lost limbs.  Liz Norden’s sons JP and Paul each lost their right legs that day and came close to losing their lives.  Her family’s situation, although horrific, was also blessed with a tremendous amount of love, prayer and support of caring individuals from all over the world who reached out to lend a helping hand when their family needed it the most. Amputees from near and far came forward to show her sons support and share their stories of encouragement. Public donations and the One Fund enabled her sons to afford the best prosthetic limbs available today and they are forever grateful.  The mission of “A Leg Forever” Charitable Foundation is to help others the way that the Norden family was helped during their time of crisis.
