Welcome to the Coastal Windows & Exteriors blog! As a woman-owned contractor we are so happy to finally launch this blog! It has been a long time coming but we are thrilled to finally share our stories, ideas, and news with you!

StephanieVanderbiltFirst, I want to introduce myself, my name is Stephanie Vanderbilt from Beverly, MA. My husband, David and I own Coastal Windows & Exteriors and we are homeowners just like you. I also helped co-found Woman Home Solutions, a collaborative of woman-owned business, and am on the board for North Shore Women in Business, a Networking organization for women-owned businesses. We are a trusted woman-owned, home exterior improvement company in Beverly, serving all New England. Our story is an interesting one – which is why I started this blog. I want to help you with all your home improvement needs.

We want to make the right decision for our home and be educated as we make our decisions. We feel homeowners, like us feel the same way. That is why we have dedicated ourselves to being an educational resource for our customers. We are always frank and honest with our customers, giving them all the facts so they can properly make the right decision.

Being a teacher of the deaf, I found that we must have empathy and a passion for service and that basis is education and trust. So it is my passion to educate you, my fellow blog readers, all you need to know about exterior home improvement and contracting. And yes, you will get an occasional recipe, a fun Coastal Gem or a funny picture that I had to share. But it all comes back to you…how we can educate you, help you and inspire you.

Our story…

David has 20+ years’ experience in the Home Improvement industry. When we decided to set out on our own he asked if I was interested in running the business. I was intrigued. Not because I have been married to him for 16 years. It was because at the time I was a teacher for the Deaf. I was very passionate with my career, helping students learning to accept their deaf identity and deal with the many issues they faced educationally and socially. My goal was making them feel right in their world. As Coastal Windows & Exteriors took off, I had to make a choice as, being a teacher for the Deaf or being a business owner as I couldn’t give 100% to both. It was a difficult decision and ultimately I decided Coastal Windows & Exteriors. I realized that by leaving teaching it didn’t mean leaving my passion behind. Lucky you!

So what you should know about me…

  • I have a crazy amount of passion and not sure where energy comes from. David doesn’t either.
  • I don’t pay lip service to great customer service-I deliver it personally.
  • I want you to wow you. Please rave, shout and scream about us!

What I hope for you:

  • You learn something new.
  • You enjoy reading, interacting with us and our family.
  • You engage with our community.
  • You gain trust in us to guide you through your exterior home improvement projects. Whether it is updating your drafty windows, fixing a leaky roof, finally fixing those gutters or updating your siding.

I remember as a child my mom told me about spiritual gifts and that we all have them and that mine was the gift of giving. I am honored to share this gift with you.
